Below is a brief overview of Friday’s Pick Six at Santa Anita.

Race 4 (10 entered with 1 also eligible): This conditioned $5,000 claimer at a mile on dirt is led by lukewarm 3-1 favorite Precedent Luke, who ships in from Turf Paradise for trainer Isidro Tamayo. The 4-year-old gelding, who has never raced at Santa Anita, will have Reylu Gutierrez in the irons.

Race 5 (9 entered): This is a one-mile maiden heat on turf for fillies who were bred or sired in California. At 9-5 on the morning line, second-time starter Kikuride for trainer Craig Lewis is the shortest-priced favorite Friday’s Pick Six sequence. The daughter of Clubhouse Ride will be stretching out in distance after rallying to be third in her debut going six furlongs on turf April 5 at Santa Anita. She will have the services of Santa Anita’s leading rider Juan Hernandez.

Race 6 (10 entered with 1 also eligible): Also for horses bred or sired in California, this is an allowance/optional claiming event at one mile on dirt. The two key principles are 5-2 program favorite Stop Digging and 3-1 second choice Ultimate Hy. Stop Digging, who drew the rail, will be stretching out in distance for trainer Simon Callaghan after being no factor in a similar event going 6 ½ furlongs on Feb. 23 at Santa Anita. Stop Digging has been runner-up four times in her previous six starts, all at this level. Hernandez will ride Stop Digging for the first time. Ultimate Hy, trained by Genaro Vallejo, switches to dirt after winning a similar statebred allowance going a mile on turf March 15 at Santa Anita. She will have Tiago Pereira aboard.

Listed as the shortest price on the morning line is the lone also eligible, Word Play, who if she draws in will have Umberto Rispoli aboard for trainer Simon Callaghan. The main body of the field is led by Notime for Squalls (2-1).
