Arcadia, CA (April 3, 2025) - Closing weekend of the Santa Anita Classic Meet will offer a betting bonanza for horseplayers, beginning Friday with a huge $2 Pick 6 carryover of $100,818. Track officials estimate the entire pool will exceed $500,000. The competitive sequence, which averages 9.0 starters per race before scratches, starts with the fifth race at approximately 3 p.m. Entries are available at santaanita.com.

Saturday is Grade I Santa Anita Derby Day at The Great Race Place featuring world-class Thoroughbred racing and an array of other on-track entertainment. A blockbuster 12-race card is on tap with five stakes including the 88th running of the Grade I Santa Anita Derby and the Grade II Fasig-Tipton Santa Anita Oaks. First post Saturday is at 12 p.m.

Track officials estimate more than $15 million in winning payouts will be up for grabs across all pools on Santa Anita Derby Day. Included as part of the regular betting menu are a trio of wagers adopted by Santa Anita that feature a player-friendly 15 percent takeout rate. They are the $3 All Turf Pick 3, which covers the final three turf races on the card; $3 Late Pick 3 covering the final three races and $5 Late Daily Double for the final two races.

Santa Anita has another 12-race card set for Sunday beginning at 12:30 p.m. As its closing day of the Classic Meet, all wagering pools (except for Coast-to-Coast Pick 5 and the 3x3) will have mandatory payouts.

With the expansive programs this weekend at Santa Anita, a special $1 Middle Pick 4 will be offered for all three days.

Following the Classic Meet, and a 13-day break, live racing will resume at Santa Anita on April 19 with the start of the Hollywood Meet. The Hollywood Meet runs through June 15.
