I was telling Juan Leyva (John Sadler’s assistant) that my horse today was feeling really firm, like he had a lot of power. I felt it on the backside, he was pulling he was trying to run. It was a faster track today, so he loved that. He is such a nice horse, he jumped out of the gate, and he was more than ready to win this race. When I asked him around the quarter pole to pick it up, he picked it up and he didn’t want to stop. He just wanted to win today.”

JOHN SADLER, FINAL BOSS, WINNER: “He reminds me a little bit of Kings River Knight (multiple stakes winner). He’s been getting some good trips on the turf. He got out and stumbled a little bit but recovered quickly. Once he got cruising around there, we felt pretty good. He rated nicely and l he looked like he improved off his last race which is what I like. When you win this one you take yourself out of the Oceanside (Jul 20, Del Mar), but there is always a race called the La Jolla (Aug. 4). So he will miss the first stake at Del Mar but he will make the second one.
