$1 Coast-To-Coast Pick 5 Returns For 2025 Santa Anita Autumn Meet As One Of Best Value Bets In Horse Racing

$1 COAST-TO-COAST PICK 5 RETURNS FOR 2025 SANTA ANITA AUTUMN MEET AS ONE OF BEST VALUE BETS IN HORSE RACING

Joining it will be the new $1 Sunset 6 with similar horseplayer-friendly rules

ARCADIA, CA (Sept. 18, 2025)— Returning to the wagering menu for the upcoming Santa Anita Autumn Meet is the popular 1/ST Coast-to-Coast Pick 5, a $1 minimum wager featuring select races from Santa Anita Park and Gulfstream Park. It will be joined for the first time this meet by the $1 Sunset Pick 6, a new wager that incorporates the final three races from Santa Anita and Gulfstream Park.

“Since day one, the 1/ST Coast-to-Coast Pick 5 has been a horseplayer’s dream—a low takeout wager that consistently produces standout payouts,” said Peter Rotondo, Senior Vice President of Racing and Wagering for 1/ST. “By adding the Sunset 6, we’re building on that success with another innovative, value-driven option that showcases the very best of Gulfstream and Santa Anita racing.”

Both the Coast-to-Coast Pick 5 and Sunset Pick 6 will be offered every Friday through Sunday during the Santa Anita Autumn Meet, which closes on Sunday, Oct. 26 after a five-week run. They each feature a player-friendly 15 percent takeout rate and are available to retail customers only. If no one successfully selects every winner in the respective sequence, then 100% of the net pool is carried over to the next day the wager is offered.

Since its introduction in January 2023, the Coast-Coast Pick 5 has proven to be one of the best value bets in horse racing. It was offered 66 times from the opening of the Santa Anita Classic Meet on Dec. 26, 2024, through the end of the Hollywood Meet on June 15. A data analysis of payouts provided by Horse Racing Nation showed that nearly two-thirds of the time (63.6%), the Coast-to-Coast payout was more than double the $2 win parlay. Additionally, almost half the time (45.5%), the Coast-to-Coast payoff exceeded the win parlay by 300%.

In all, the payout for the Coast to Coast outperformed the $2 win parlay by an average of 320% and a median of 280%. The average $1 return was $8,699 and the median $1 payoff was $2,762.

The $1 Coast-to-Coast Pick 5 and $1 Sunset 6 will be part of comprehensive wagering menu offered during the Santa Anita Autumn Meet. Other highlights include a traditional $1 Pick 6 offered on Santa Anita’s final six races; and a $5 late Daily Double, $3 late Pick 3 and $3 All Turf Pick 3, each with a low 15% takeout rate.
