$ 175,000 UNUSUAL HEAT TURF CLASSIC QUOTES

JOCKEY QUOTES

ANTONIO FRESU, OLD PAL, WINNER: “The horse ran great today. He came up from the middle of the pack, found the lane and just did an amazing job. All credit to Mark Glatt and his team. I think the extra eighth of a mile really helped. It allowed him to stretch it out and get the win.”

TRAINER QUOTES

MARK GLATT, OLD PAL, WINNER:“I think it is just his style. He can win going a mile or a mile and a sixteenth for that matter, but he needs that good hot pace. We didn’t get a good pace today, it was just okay. But I think the extra eighth of a mile was the difference. At the sixteenth pole I was wondering if he was actually going to get there but he grabbed them late. “He rode him really well. Antonio and I do really well together, it seems like a good fit. He got a little experience on the horse last time. I think he learned a little something by riding him. He is not the easiest horse to ride and he paid dividends today.”

OWNER QUOTES

SCOTT SHERWOOD, BLINKERS ON RACING STABLES, PART OWNER, OLD PAL, WINNER: “It is something we have been looking forward to. We pointed to it for a long time. The distance was right and it is $175,000, so it is something we have been pointing to.”
