PICK 6 CARRYOVER OF $40,549 AWAITS HORSEPLAYERS SATURDAY FOR 10-RACE CARD AT SANTA ANITA

ARCADIA, CA (March 14, 2025)— With no winning tickets in Friday’s $2 Pick Six at Santa Anita, a carryover of $40,549.44 awaits horseplayers Saturday on a 10-race card. The total pool is estimated to approach $500,000.

Helping to trigger the carryover were a pair of longshot winners in the final two races Friday, both trained by Doug O’Neill and ridden by Antonio Fresu. Fowler Blue won the eighth race for the tandem and paid $51.80 as the longest shot on the board. Then in the nightcap, which was moved from the turf to the main track due to rain, Knightwithlouis won and paid $17.40.

The lone winning favorite in Friday’s Pick Six came in the seventh race when Excel Calculator scored under Welfin Orantes for trainer Ron Ellis and paid $3.60. The consolation payout for tickets with 5-of-6 winners was $1,022.20.

The winning horses in Saturday’s Pick Six beginning with the fourth race were #8 Caviar Cowboy ($8), #5 Awesome Rhythm ($6.80), #1 Om N Joy ($9), #7 Excel Calculator ($3.60), #5 Fowler Blue ($51.80) and #8 Knightwithlouis ($17.40).

First post Saturday is 1 p.m. PT. The Pick Six, which averages a robust 9.7 starters per race before scratches, starts with the fifth race at approximately 3:08 p.m PT.
