GRADE III WINNER UNRIVALED TIME, BREEDERS’ CUP RUNNER-UP STARK CONTRAST LEAD THE EDDIE LOGAN STAKES FOR 2- YEAR-OLDS GOING ONE MILE ON TURF WEDNESDAY AT SANTA ANITA

ARCADIA, CA (Dec. 26, 2025)— Graded stakes winner Unrivaled Time takes on familiar faces in Wednesday’s $100,000 Eddie Logan Stakes for 2-year-olds going one mile on turf at Santa Anita.

Unrivaled Time is one of four horses entered in the Eddie Logan who exit the Grade III Cecil B. DeMille Stakes at Del Mar, also at one mile on turf.

Making a late bid in the DeMille, Unrivaled Time split through horses in the stretch to earn his graded win by three-quarters of a length. Trained by Leonard Powell, the colt by Not This Time broke his maiden in similar one run fashion going a mile on the turf at Santa Anita in October. Co-owned by Innergy Racing Corp and breeder Alfred Pais, Unrivaled Time has two wins from three starts and $97,6000 in earnings. He will have Diego Herrera back in the irons.

Irish-bred Iriseach trailed the field in the DeMille but closed with a four-wide bid down the lane to be runner up behind Unrivaled Time. Bred in Ireland, Iriseach came stateside and joined the Phil D’Amato barn in late summer. He was fifth in his first U.S. start going six furlongs on the Santa Anita lawn Oct. 12. Stretched out to one mile 18 days later, Iriseach was a neck winner under Umberto Rispoli, who rides him back. Owned by Benowitz Family Trust, CYBT, McLean Racing Stables, Strand Beach LLC and Michael Nentwig the Ubettabeliveit colt is 4 4-1-1-0 with $58,369 in earnings.

Plutarch has never been worse than third in his five starts for trainer Bob Baffert. He is coming off a 4 ½-length maiden win going 1 1/8 miles on turf at Del Mar, which followed three consecutive stakes tries. Plutarch finished second to Hey Nay Nay in the GIII Del Mar Juvenile Turf in September, then switched to dirt for a try in the GI American Pharoah on Oct. 4 where he finished third by just three-quarters of a length. Switched back to turf for the one-mile Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance on the Breeders’ Cup undercard Oct. 31, Plutarch checked in third for owners Mrs. John Magnier and Michael Tabor. Plutarch is 5-1-2-2 with $132,000 in earnings. He will be reunited with Juan Hernandez, who was previously aboard in the Del Mar Juvenile Turf.

Stark Contrast, was just three quarters of a length shy of a Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint victory after being caught in tight quarters in the stretch. The winner of the Grade 3 Zuma Beach stakes here on October 5, Stark Contrast is trained by Michael McCarthy. The colt by Caravaggio will look to improve on his record of 4-2-1-0 and $282,200 in earnings for owner-breeder Amerman Racing, LLC. Stark Contrast will be handled by his regular rider Kazushi Kimura.
