GRADE III WINNER JUNGLE PEACE MAKES 2-TURN DEBUT FOR D’AMATO IN SUNDAY’S GRADE III HONEYMOON STAKES FOR 3-YEAR-OLD FILLIES GOING 1 1/8 MILES ON TURF AT SANTA ANITA

ARCADIA, CA (May 14, 2025)—Jungle Peace, a perfect 3-for-3 in the U.S and winner of the GIII Senorita Stakes sprinting on the hillside turf course last out, will make her two-turn debut for trainer Phil D’Amato Sunday when stretched out to 1 1/8 miles in the Grade III, $100,000 Honeymoon Stakes for 3-year-old fillies on turf.

Bred in Ireland, where she was winless in two starts as a juvenile, Jungle Peace graduated in her first U.S. start Feb. 15 when sprinting 6 ½ furlongs on Santa Anita’s flat turf course Feb. 15. She came right back to win a six-furlong turf allowance at Santa Anita prior to going gate-to-wire in the Senorita on April 27.

By Bungle Inthejungle, Jungle Peace is campaigned domestically by CYBT, McLean Racing Stables, Jerry McClanahan, Michael Nentwig and Jeremy Peskoff. She has an overall record of 5: 3-0-1 with $138,906 in earnings. Jockey Umberto Rispoli, who has been aboard for all three U.S. starts, retains the mount on Jungle Peace.

Trainer Patrick Gallagher has two entered with Firenze Flavor and Schilflied.

Firenze Flavor most recently rallied to win a first-level allowance going a mile on turf April 25 at Santa Anita. By Liam’s Map, Firenze Flavor comes in with a record of 4: 2-0-0 with $74,180 in earnings for owners Oda Racing and U.S. Equine. This will be her first time racing beyond a mile. Jockey Drayden Van Dyke rides Firenze Fire for the first time.

Schilflied was beaten four lengths by Jungle Peace when fifth in the Senorita. In two previous stakes tries around two turns, both at a mile, Schilflied was second in the Blue Norther in December at Santa Anita and off the board in the GIII Jimmy Durante last November at Del Mar. By Mendelssohn, Schilflied is 9: 2-2-1 with $123,320 in earnings for owner TCK USA. She’ll be ridden by Antonio Fresu, who was also aboard in the Senorita.

As Catch Can returns to Santa Anita for trainer Jonathan Thomas after most recently finishing second in the Bourbonette Oaks going 1 1/16 miles on synthetic at Turfway Park on March 22. The Mo Town filly spent the winter at Santa Anita where she made one start in February, a good runner-up finish to Casalu in the Sweet Life Stakes sprinting about 6 ½ furlongs on the hillside turf course. With a record of 8: 2-3-1 and $163,985 in earnings for owner Augustin Stable, As Catch Can will be ridden by Kazushi Kimura for the first time.
