GRADE III, $100,000 MONROVIA STAKES QUOTES

JOCKEY QUOTES

JUAN HERNANDEZ, QUEEN MAXIMA, WINNER: “All the credit goes to her and Jeff (Mullins). She loves to run, and Jeff does a really good job with her. In the post parade, she was feeling really, really, good. She wasn't getting hot at all. As soon as the gate opened, she was trying to take the lead. So, I just let her be free and she took it till the wire. I didn't do much today with her. She was doing everything on her own. She just keeps getting better.”

ON JEFF MULLINS REACHING 1,800 TRAINING VICTORIES: “(Jeff Mullins) is a great trainer and he's one of the guys that supports me a lot. I'm riding his horses, and he always does a beautiful job, and he has a really good team at his barn. I'm really happy for him and I'm happy for everybody on his 1800th win.”

TRAINER QUOTES

JEFF MULLINS, QUEEN MAXIMA, WINNER: “I can’t say that she has surprised me. She has kind of lived up to our expectations and I’m not sure that we have seen the most of her yet. We do want to experiment with two turns again eventually and maybe even dirt. That is a ways down the road but she is a pure athlete. As long as her feed tub is empty every morning and she is sleeping good, we have a good chance.”

NOTES: The winning owner is Dutch Girl Holdings LLC or Irving Ventures LLC. Trainer Jeff Mullins earns his 1,800th U.S career victory.
