GRADE III,HONEYMOON STAKES QUOTES

JOCKEY QUOTES

DRAYDEN VAN DYKE, FIRENZE FLAVOR, WINNER:“My main thing was to get along with her. She likes to throw her head around I saw from her previous races and watching her in the morning. She likes to throw it down if you fight with her. So, I was just trying to get along with her the best I could and go from there.

“I was a little worried, she kicked nice for me and was trying to shy away from the horse to my inside. As I got her closer to her, she dug in the last little part, and it just worked out good for me. I just want to thank Paddy and the connections.”

TRAINER QUOTES

PATRICK GALLAGHER, FIRENZE FLAVOR, WINNER: “We’ve always liked the filly. Her first race was good, her second race was good, her third was not so good. Then she came back and won last time. I think there’s more to come for her, but first I need to go to LensCrafters. I thought she finished third.

“I thought our other filly would be laying closer, but she ran OK too.”

NOTES: The winning owners/breeders are Oda Racing and U.S. Equine.
