GRADE II, $200,000 SANTA MARGARITA STAKES QUOTES

JOCKEY QUOTES

ANTONIO FRESU, SEISMIC BEAUTY, WINNER: “When she got to the lead, she was comfortable and was traveling good. She’s a strong type, you can see her physically she is so big. And so classy. Warming up with the pony it was like she had done it a hundred times. She was professional with everything. She was just a step slow from the gate, she’s so big, but once she got into a good rhythm I was always comfortable all the way.”

TRAINER QUOTES

BOB BAFFERT, SEISMIC BEAUTY, WINNER: “That time, whoa, that’s serious racehorse time. “She ran like she’s been training. She’s just a big, beautifully striding filly who is getting better. We gave her plenty of time to mature. “It’s going to be something big. She’s ready for something big.”

OWNER QUOTES

JOE MORAN, MY RACEHORSE, SEISMC BEAUTY, WINNER: “This is the biggest group in California that I have seen in a while, there was a few hundred out here. “They have been working with her in the mornings and Beto (Gomez), her main exercise rider has worked really hard with her. She can work fast every week and you can tell by her work tab that she has been slowed down by intention. Second time going long with an extra furlong I was a little worried that she was going to be able to relax like that, but she did it beautifully. “I think in the back of our head we were very hopeful that she could do this. At the end of the day we will leave it up to Bob, but I think the Clement Hirsh at Del Mar, Breeders’ Cup Distaff ‘Win and You’re In’ is the plan and then Breeders’ Cup.”

NOTES: The winning owners are My Racehorse and Peter Leidel. Bob Baffert also trained the runner up Splendora (4-5).
