ARCADIA, CA (Oct. 24, 2026)—With more than 500 dachshunds competing in the 2026 Halloweinerfest races at Santa Anita Park on Saturday, claiming the title as the fleetest of them all was “Bonnie,” who also won the event last year. Bonnie hails from Visalia, Calif. and was handled by owners Fidel and Gigia.

The Halloweinerfest races consisted of a series of heats held in the Santa Anita infield until the field was whittled down to just eight finalists. The championship race was held on the Santa Anita main track in front of the grandstand and before an enthusiastic crowd of 15,038. Bonnie came out on top with “Dumbo” finishing second and “Chorizo” taking third.

In addition to dachshund races, Santa Anita’s Halloweinerfest included a dachshund-centric vendor village, dachshund costume contest, food and drink, pet-friendly fun and family fun activities in addition to live Thoroughbred racing.
