SINGLETON PURCHASED FOR JUST $72 THROUGH TWIN SPIRES HUB IN PORTLAND, OREGON
ARCADIA, Calif. (Oct. 26, 2017)–With a four-day carryover in Santa Anita’s Single Ticket Pick Six Jackpot of $51,369 coming into Thursday, there was $61,352 in “new money” wagered, creating a total Pick Six pool of $112,721 and Single Ticket Pick Six Jackpot payoff of $91,170. The winning ticket was purchased for just $72 through a Twin Spires hub in Portland, Oregon.
Although 9-1 longshot Extrordinary Jerry cinched the Single Ticket Jackpot gusher under a come-backing Kyle Frey, two post time favorites did connect in Thursday’s Pick Six, but other than that, upsets were the order of the day.
Following is a summation of Thursday’s Pick Six winners: Race three went to King Eddie (30-1), paying $63.80; race four was won by Forthenineteen (1-5), paying $2.60; race five went to Royal Bar (8-5), paying $5.40; race six to Cimpl Man (9-1), paying $20.40; race seven to Midnight Summer (7-2), paying $9.40 and the afore mentioned Extrordinary Jerry in the eighth, who paid $21.40 to win.
With an eight-race card in store for Friday, there are 62 horses entered and 57 eligible to run in races three through eight. Average field size for Friday’s Pick Six is thus at 9.5 horses per race.
First post time on Friday is at 1 p.m. and approximate post time for race three is at 2 p.m. PT. Santa Anita’s admission gates will open at 11 a.m.
