ROSIE NAPRAVNIK, EMOLLIENT, WINNER: Responding to question about traffic trouble around the first turn: “I had so much horse I knew I could wait until something opened up. I was in a good position and could see where the holes were going to open up and she was really on her game today. When I rode her last time, she did the same thing and when I asked her, she was ready. I’m very thankful to Juddmonte and to Bill Mott to have me on her again.”

ELVIS TRUJILLO, PARRANDA, SECOND: “A perfect ride. I fell a bit behind on the slow pace, but everything’s good. It’s real good. Yes, he ran the race we wanted him to run.”

DAVID LIVELY, ASSISTANT TO BILL MOTT, EMOLLIENT, WINNER: “She loves this hard surface here. I think that’s what it is. She shipped in really well and was calm and she’s had her game face on since she got off the van. She didn’t break really sharp and she usually gets upset if she’s in tight with horses but Rosie did a heck of a job getting her to settle. We’re here for a couple more days then we’ll be shipping back to New York. We’ll ship back for Breeders’ Cup. That’s the plan right now.”

JERRY HOLLENDORFER, PARRANDA, SECOND: “I thought she was going to win it, she just got out-bobbed at the wire.”

NOTES: The winning owner is Khalid Prince Abdullah of Lexington, Ky., who races as Juddmonte Farms.
