JOE TALAMO, DRAFT PICK, WINNER:  “We had a perfect trip.  I was real happy with my position and when we swung out around those two horses on the lead (Afleet Ascent and Axelrod), he really took off down the lane.  Full credit to Pete, this horse is getting better and better.  He finished up today like a serious horse.”

MARTIN GARCIA, SOLOMINI, THIRD:  “He just wasn’t there for me today.  I was asking him to run at the three eighths and he just wasn’t himself.”

PETER EURTON, DRAFT PICK, WINNER: “He was definitely up to the task today wasn’t he? The track has to be a little bit slow and that :49 and change half didn’t hurt. The way he’s doing right now and the fact that the light has really come on with him is huge.”

LEE SEARING, OWNER, DRAFT PICK, WINNER: “Well yeah, they did go a little slow but Joe put him right up there where he wanted to put him, by Bob’s horse.

“All of his races have been good races but I think what we figured out is that he likes a fight. He likes to take it to them and that’s what he did again today.

“This horse has really become a fighter so it’s nice to see this horse jump up in class against some horses that have won some big races. We’ve been patient with him and that’s what he needed. He just needed to learn. As long as we put him in that position to fight, I think he still has a lot more in him.”
