ARCADIA, Calif. (Jan. 5, 2020)–With no less than five “live” tickets in Sunday’s 20 cent Single Ticket Rainbow Pick Six Jackpot, the prospect of $443,097 Jackpot bonanza was very real indeed a quarter mile from home in the day’s eighth and final race, but it was 7-2 second choice Hootie who prevailed by 2 ¼ lengths, creating instead three consolation winners, each worth a hefty $34,773.60.
The live singleton horses, Mystery Messenger, You Must Chill, Single Me Out, Broke Away Grey and Bird, finished second, third, fifth, seventh and 10th among a 10-horse field going a mile on turf.
