Join us for a night of mesmerizing acoustic music with Phoenix Mendoza and Josh Leo on May 7th, as they take the stage in the Directors’ Room at Santa Anita.
A teller of tales, singer of songs, and painter of pictures, Phoenix Mendoza exudes the same singer-songwriter/artist vibe that came to define Laurel Canyon in the early 70’s. Mendoza has written, performed, and recorded with Brantley Gilbert, Love and Theft, Trevor Rosen of Old Dominion, Steve Wariner, Whisperin’ Bill Anderson, JD Souther, and Raul Malo of The Maverick.
A well-known and versatile guitarist, songwriter, and record producer, Josh Leo has 27 #1 hits credited to his name. He began his career as a guitarist for JD Souther, before recording and touring with Kim Carnes, Jimmy Buffet, and Glen Frey. Leo has written songs for and produced Timothy B Schmit, Alabama, Restless Heart, Reba McEntire, LeAnn Rimes, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Kenny Chesney, and the smash country song “Fishin’ In the Dark” by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.
Brought together by Warner Chappell Music, Phoenix Mendoza & Josh Leo are the real soul brothers of music. Don’t miss this incredible night of storytelling and songs from these two special creators of music on May 7th at Santa Anita Park!
