SANTA ANITA JUVENILE STAKES QUOTES – MONDAY, JULY 3, 2017

JOCKEY QUOTES

FLAVIEN PRAT, RUN AWAY, WINNER: “He’s still very professional. Even in his first outing he did everythign right and acted like a good horse. He stretched out well.

“I think the added distance will be good for him. I liked the way he galloped out today and the last eighth of a mile was good as well.”

TRAINER QUOTES

SIMON CALLAGHAN, RUN AWAY, WINNER: “I thought rating would be an option today but I just left it to Flavien. He knows this horse so well. I was a bit nervous that he was slow away from the gate and we had to rush up so I thought it was a pretty good performance there at the end when we had to hold off Argosy Fleet.

“It’s nice to get the first stakes win for Kaleem (Shah, owner). He was watching from India. This is a good minded kind of colt. We’ll go to Del Mar and look at the Best Pal (Grade II, 6 ½ furlongs on Aug. 12) and the Futurity (Grade I, seven furlongs Sept. 4).”

NOTES: Winning owner Kaleem Shah is from San Diego.
