The Sunday program begins with three rather uninspiring events, so let’s see if we can ace the early Pick-3 with singles in the first, second, and third races. In the opener, #5 El Martillo, exiting a series of strong sprints, stretches out for Baffert following a bullet recent workout, switches to Rosario (who has won with him in the past) and will be tough to beat if he gets the kind of patient ride he seems to prefer. In the second race, #4 Euro Gal exits a fast heat and is wheeled back quickly in nine days by Sadler.

Handicapping, in short, refers to analyzing the race to come up with best predicted outcome, or pick. There are many angles when it comes to picking a winner.
