Handicapping, in short, refers to analyzing the race to come up with best predicted outcome, or pick. There are many angles when it comes to picking a winner. Using some of the help from the professional handicappers below, you can determine your own angle on placing a bet. For more information on how to bet or wager, click here.

The Sunday program, featuring a Pick-6 carryover of $109,125, begins with a maiden claiming dash for juvenile fillies. #8 Myrna Lou split the field in a Turf Paradise stakes race and should find this group within her range. #6 Wackett exits a hot race and is another likely to improve a bunch in this softer spot. We’ll try to get by in our rolling exotics using only these two.

First post for the Saturday 11-race program is 12 Noon. A reminder that post time for the Belmont Stakes is scheduled for 3:52 California Chrome time (between the seventh and eighth Santa Anita races).

First post for the Friday eight-race program is 3 p.m. A reminder that the huge Belmont Stakes Saturday race card at Santa Anita – featuring 11 races – will begin at 12 noon.

Today’s opener is a five-runner restricted (nw-2) claiming router for fillies and mares. #5 Parada drops a notch and stretches out again and if her improving pattern continues she’ll be hard to beat. #1 Kid Rollins graduated in a slowly-run bottom-rung maiden claimer in mid-April and appears to be training well since, so continued improvement is possible.

A pick-6 carryover of $129,366 awaits players as Belmont Stakes week begins with an eight-race program beginning at 1 p.m.

We’ll double the first race in our rolling exotic play. #5 Soar Home returns to the main track, drops a notch, and probably beats this field with a repeat of her race before last. #3 Super Defence has been working quite sharply for her comeback and looks like the probable pace setter in her first try around two turns. She ran well fresh on this track last year.

The Sunday program starts out a little chalky (we think) but offers some potentially good wagering value as the day goes on.

An excellent Saturday program begins with a $40,000 claiming miler that appears made to order for #2 Bench Light. The Benchmark gelding whipped a softer field with a strong number last month and looks capable of winning right back on the double jump for new trainer O’Neill. #5 Swift Eagle likes to run second and third a bit more than he likes to win, but with the switch to hot-riding Desormeaux the veteran Sadler-trained gelding has a strong look, especially if he can repeat his nice score over this course and distance two races back.
