SANTA ANITA PARK TO HOST PHOTO DAY IV AMATEURS, PROS INVITED TO SHOOT WORKOUTS, RACES

ARCADIA, Calif. (Feb. 24, 2012)—Santa Anita Park has announced plans to host its fourth Photographers Day, Friday, March 9. Photo Day IV will get underway with registration at Clockers’ Corner at 7:30 a.m. and the day will include breakfast, morning workouts and afternoon racing. Amateur and professional photographers are invited.

“The participation we’ve experienced for these events has been amazing,” said Santa Anita Vice President of Sales and Marketing Chris Quinn. “These folks come from all walks of life and their enthusiasm is contagious. They love being out here. Santa Anita’s architecture is world-renowned and with the horses and the mountains as a backdrop, they’ve got some incredible subject matter to work with both in the morning and the afternoon.

“We consider all of these people our representatives, in a way. Through their lenses and by virtue of their creativity, they are helping us to present Santa Anita in a very positive and we hope, broad-based way.”

When workouts conclude at 10 a.m., a breakfast buffet will be served and a question and answer session with track photographers, trainers and management will follow. First race post time is 1 p.m. and all participants will be granted access to the track’s paddock.

All photographers will be encouraged to submit their best photos to the Santa Anita Marketing Department and selected shots will be displayed at www.santaanita.com.

A modest registration fee of $20 for tickets purchased on-line or $25 on the day of the event covers admission, parking, breakfast and press credentials for the entire day.
