ARCADIA, Calif. (Jan. 12, 2012)—For the fourth time in 11 racing days, no one correctly tabbed all six winners in Santa Anita’s popular Pick Six wager, resulting in a carryover into Friday of $67,183. It is expected Friday’s total Pick Six pool could reach $400,000.

Friday’s Pick Six will cover races three through eight and barring any late scratches, an average of 9.5 horses per race will await bettors.

Friday’s seventh race, the $60,000 Rex Chapman Purse for older fillies and mares at 6 ½ furlongs down Santa Anita’s hillside turf course, will serve as the afternoon’s feature.

The Chapman, a second condition allowance affair with an optional claiming proviso of $62,500 attracted a field of nine, including the comebacking Talktoomuch, who has been installed as the 5-2 morning line favorite.

An 8-year-old Royal Academy mare trained by Mike Mitchell, Talktoomuch has been idle since winning at the same level at Del Mar going a mile and a sixteenth on Aug. 20.

Talktoomuch will be ridden back by Joe Talamo for the Indizguys Stable. Talamo, who turned 22 years of age today, has won twice aboard the chestnut mare from six tries.

Talktoomuch, who drew post position number eight, has one win from three previous starts down Santa Anita’s hillside.

The shortest priced morning line favorite in Friday’s Pick Six is Elusive Schemes in race six.

The 7-year-old gelding has been installed as the 9-5 favorite in a $12,500 claiming affair at 1 1/16 miles. Claimed out of a fourth-place finish at the same level on Oct. 27 by owner/trainer Mark Glatt, Elusive Schemes will again be ridden by Rafael Bejarano.
