ARCADIA, Calif. (Nov. 5, 2011) – When Santa Anita concludes it 24-day Autumn Meet on Sunday, the action will be buoyed by a Pick Six carryover of $55,422. Being closing day, there will be a mandatory payout to those with the most winners if nobody correctly selects all six.
Longshot winners in the first four legs of Saturday’s Pick Six ($20.60, $16.60, $39.20 and $44.60) sent the exotic wager into carryover territory. It is expected that Sunday’s pool will approach $500,000.
With a 10-race program on Sunday when first post is at 12 noon, the Pick Six sequence will begin with the fifth race, scheduled for 2:03 p.m.
Sixty-one horses are entered in the Pick Six races for an average of 10 per race. The series includes the Grade II Las Palmas Stakes, the ninth race. None of Pick Six races has a favorite of less than 5-2 on the morning line.
