SUNSHINE MILLIONS DAY TO OFFER FOOD TRUCK FARE, SANTA ANITA ‘FAN FEAST’ TO FEATURE 16 TRUCKS JAN. 29

ARCADIA, Calif. (Nov. 18, 2010)—Santa Anita’s ninth annual Sunshine Millions Day will not only provide fans with exciting Florida-bred vs. California-bred Thoroughbred action, but those attending on Jan. 29 will also be treated to a first-ever Gourmet Food Truck Festival, as 16 food trucks from around Southern California will be offering a wide variety of cuisine at modest prices.

In addition to the Gourmet Food Truck Festival, all fans attending on Sunshine Millions Day will receive a Sunshine Millions cooler bag, free with their paid admission. These bags are large enough to accommodate 18 cans of cold beverages and will be available to the first 15,000 attendees.

“We think this event is going to be a nice complement to the Sunshine Millions program,” said Santa Anita Vice President of Marketing, Allen Gutterman. “Santa Anita will become the first-ever sports venue to host a Food Truck Festival while a live sporting event is taking place. We’re going to have all 16 trucks in the east end of the infield and this is going to be a fun, affordable event for many families. Sunshine Millions always has a festive atmosphere and we think this is going to be a great addition.”

Admission to the Gourmet Food Truck Festival is $12 person, pre paid including parking, or $12 at the gate (parking $4), which includes a racing program and admission to the Festival area. Fans who have already paid to be admitted to the track can gain admission to the Gourmet Food Truck Festival by paying an additional $5. Modestly priced fare will be offered by all of the food trucks throughout the 10-race program.

Additionally, there will be a wine tent and Gastropub, as well as live entertainment and a DJ. Family Fun activities will also be available for small children.

Included among the 16 food trucks set to participate are representatives from The Grilled Cheese Truck, Border Grill, Don Chow Tacos, Canter’s Deli, Baby’s Badass Burgers, Takosher, Dante Fried Chicken, South Philly Experience, Dogtown Dogs, Knockout Tacos and others.

First post time on Sunshine Millions Day is 12 noon. The Food Truck Festival will open at 11 a.m. and close at 4:30 p.m.

Those wishing to pre-purchase tickets that include parking, are encouraged to visit Food Truck Festival Tickets.
