LOS ANGELES – This week, Southern Californians will see a new train car decorated with a vinyl display of six thoroughbred horses traveling across the Metrolink system. The newly-wrapped car is a result of a partnership between Metrolink and Breeders' Cup Ltd. to promote the return of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships to Santa Anita Park and encourage the use of public transportation to go to the event on Nov. 2 and 3.

The total purse of the 2011 Breeders’ Cup was $25.5 million.

ARCADIA, Calif. (Aug. 6, 2012)—The County of Los Angeles will conduct a Hazardous & E-Waste Collection, free of charge to all L.A. County residents, in Santa Anita’s infield parking lot on Aug. 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Those interested in participating are encouraged to take Colorado Place, which runs along Santa Anita’s northern perimeter and enter at Gate 6.

“This is one of L.A. County’s largest E-Waste collections for the entire year,” said Santa Anita Director of Community Services and Special Projects Pete Siberell.

ARCADIA, Calif. (Aug. 1, 2012) – Breeders’ Cup Ltd., along with Zenyatta owners Jerry and Ann Moss, announced today plans for the second annual Breeders’ Cup Zenyatta After-Party Celebration, to be held Championship Friday, Nov. 2, at Santa Anita Park’s Frontrunner restaurant.

NEW YORK (August 1, 2012) –The Breeders’ Cup and HRTV today announced a multi-year media rights agreement which makes HRTV the official simulcast partner of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships and the preferred Horse Racing Network provider of the event.

The Breeders’ Cup, Thoroughbred racing’s most prestigious global event, consisting of 15 races with purses totaling more than $25 million, will be held on November 2-3 at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, Calif.

ARCADIA, Cal. (July 30, 2012)—Stall applications for Santa Anita’s 2012 Autumn Meet are available to horsemen now at Santa Anita, Del Mar, Hollywood Park and on-line at www.santaanita.com. Applications are due Friday, Aug. 10.

Santa Anita’s Autumn Meet gets underway on Friday, Sept. 28 and the 24-day stand will be highlighted by the Breeders’ Cup World Championships on Nov. 2 & 3. Closing day is Nov. 4.

Horsemen are encouraged to submit their applications as soon as possible.

CHICAGO – July 17, 2012 – Collectors of horse racing art should be jockeying for position to buy an original oil painting currently on display in a Santa Fe, N.M., gallery. All proceeds from the sale of the painting, which portrays thoroughbreds exercising at the famed Santa Anita Park in California, will benefit the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund (PDJF).

The work, titled “Morning Exercise—Santa Anita,” is by award-winning fine artist, Terri Kelly Moyers.

ARCADIA, Calif. (July 13, 2012)—Santa Anita Park, which will host the Breeders’ Cup World Championships on Nov. 2 & 3, has announced name changes for a total of 14 stakes, six of them Grade I events, effective with the opening of the 2012 Autumn Meet on Sept. 28.

“This has been an important process for all of us involved with live racing here at Santa Anita,” said Rick Hammerle, Santa Anita Vice President of Racing. “We did a lot of research and tried hard to make sure each name had a tangible meaning, either geographically, historically or culturally. We feel good about the new names and we’d like to sincerely thank all of our fans that participated in the ‘Name That Stakes Contest’ to rename the former Harold C. Ramser, Sr. Stakes. It will now be the Grade III Autumn Miss Stakes and will be run on Oct. 27.

“We’re also excited to be honoring one of the all-time best Cal Breds, with the Lava Man Cal Cup Classic on Oct. 13.”
