SHYSHEISNOT ACCELERATES TO WIN $58,000 ALLOWANCE FEATURE; VAN DYKE & SADLER TEAM FOR 1 ¼ LENGTH WIN AS EMILY WYGOD HOMEBRED GETS MILE ON TURF IN 1:35.39 & DEFEATS SEVEN STATEBRED RIVALS

PICK SIX CARRYOVER OF $37,607 INTO SATURDAY, TOTAL POOL COULD EXCEED $250,000

ARCADIA, Calif. (Oct. 17, 2014)–Favored Shysheisnot accelerated powerfully through the lane to take Friday’s $58,000 allowance feature at Santa Anita, winning by 1 ¼ lengths while getting one mile on turf in 1:35.39.

Ridden by top apprentice Drayden Van Dyke and trained by John Sadler, the 3-year-old daughter of Tribal Rule sat mid pack into the far turn and found a seam four deep turning for home when called upon by Van Dyke.

“She was pulling on me pretty good the whole way,” said Van Dyke. “She kicked off at about the half mile pole. I put her in between horses on the far turn and a little spot opened up on the outside so we took advantage. She finished well.”

Owned and bred by Emily Wygod, Shysheisnot was off at 2-1 in a field of eight fillies and mares bred or sired in California and paid $6.40, $4.40 and $3.00. Idle since running second in a one mile Polytrack allowance at Del Mar Aug. 20, she improved her record to 6-2-2-1 and with the winner’s share of $34,800, increased her earnings to $116,920.

“It looks like she’s found a home on turf,” said Sadler assistant, Larry Benavidez. “She just took off when Drayden got after her.”

Kana Flavor, who was ridden by Martin Garcia, was sent to the front from her outside post and set fractions of 23.28, 47.12, 1:11.62 and 1:23.45 and just managed to hold off the late charge of Market Quote and Corey Nakatani, finishing second by a head. Off at 18-1, Kana Flavor paid $18.40 and $9.60.

With the temporary rail set at 30 feet, Market Quote was caught wide turning for home and just missed the place, finishing 1 ¼ lengths in front of Mindfully, who was ridden by Joe Talamo. Off at 9-2, Market Quote paid $3.00 to show.

There is a Pick Six carryover of $37,607 into Saturday and it’s expected Saturday’s total pool could exceed $250,000. First post time is 1 p.m. and admission gates open at 11 a.m.
