SANTA ANITA PARK CANCELS EIGHT-RACE CARD FOR THURSDAY DUE TO HEAVY RAINS; RACING TO RESUME ON FRIDAY WITH SUNNY SKIES PREDICTED  

 

EIGHT-RACE CARD ON FRIDAY TO BEGIN AT 12 NOON, EXTRA RACES TO BE OFFERED SUNDAY

 

ARCADIA, Calif. (March 22, 2018)–With the National Weather Service predicting a 100 percent chance of continued heavy rain throughout this afternoon, Santa Anita Park has cancelled its eight-race program for Thursday and will offer horsemen some of the missed races as extra races in the coming days, beginning this Sunday.  (Entries for Sunday are being taken this morning).

Live racing will resume at Santa Anita on Friday, as partly sunny skies are predicted.  First post time for an eight-race card tomorrow is at 12 noon.

Santa Anita will be open for simulcast racing today, with free parking and admission offered.  Admission gates will open at 10 a.m. and simulcast wagering will be available in Sirona’s Bar on the Grandstand main floor and in the Paddock Room.  Food and beverage service will also be available in both areas.
