ARCADIA, Calif. (Jan. 19, 2018)–Head and head the final three sixteenths of a mile, Ms Bad Behavior, in her first try on turf, outran favored Out of the Flames to take Friday’s $56,000 Santa Anita allowance feature by a neck under Tiago Pereira.  Trained by Richard Baltas, the 3-year-old Ontario, Canadian-bred filly got 6 ½ furlongs down the hillside turf course in 1:12.97.

Most recently fourth behind a pair of repeat winners (Dream Tree and Midnight Bisou) in a seven furlong stakes on Nov. 18 at Del Mar, Ms Bad Behavior faced winners for the second time today in her fifth career start.

The second choice at 5-2 in a field of eight sophomore fillies, Ms Bad Behavior paid $7.20, $3.60 and $3.00.

“Before she came in, the guys on the farm in Florida told me she had trained better on grass,” said Baltas.  “She’s run against some good fillies on dirt, no question.  I think she’ll definitely go further…She’ll go a mile for sure.”

Owned by Greg Hall and Sayjay Racing, LLC, Ms Bad Behavior improved her overall record to 5-2-1-1.  With the winner’s share of $33,600, she increased her earnings to $88,800.
