LIVE RACING TO RESUME AT SANTA ANITA ON FRIDAY WITH A NINE-RACE PROGRAM; NO RACING ON THURSDAY, ADDITIONAL RACES TO BE ADDED FRIDAY, SATURDAY & SUNDAY

FREE PARKING & ADMISSION TO BE OFFERED FOR SIMULCAST WAGERING ON THURSDAY

ARCADIA, Calif. (June 4, 2017)–Live racing will resume at Santa Anita on Friday, with a nine-race program that will begin with first race post time at 1 p.m.  Although Thursday’s live racing card has been cancelled due to a shortage of entries, Santa Anita will be open for simulcast wagering on Thursday with free parking and admission.

“After looking at entries for Thursday, we decided it was in the best interest of our customers to put on three solid race cards, Friday, Saturday and Sunday,” said Joe Morris, The Stronach Group’s Senior Vice-President of West Coast Operations.  “The races from Thursday that attracted enough entries will be added over those three days to give horsemen some additional racing opportunities.”

Admission gates will open Thursday at 10:30 a.m.  This Saturday, Belmont Day, Santa Anita’s admission gates will open early at 8 a.m.  Special early first post time for live racing on Saturday is at 12 noon.  For more information, or to make Belmont Day reservations, please visit santaanita.com.
