CALIFORNIA-BRED SHOW IT N MOE IT TAKES $56,000 SANTA ANITA ALLOWANCE FEATURE BY 3 ¾ LENGTHS UNDER BEJARANO; TRAINED BY SHERLOCK, SHE GETS 6 ½ FURLONGS IN 1:17.22

ARCADIA, Calif. (Feb. 9, 2018)–The lone California-bred in the field, Terry Lovingier’s homebred Show It N Moe It marched to an impressive 3 ¾ length win in Friday’s $56,000 Santa Anita allowance feature under Rafael Bejarano.  Trained by Gary Sherlock, the 3-year-old daughter of Grace Upon Grace got 6 ½ furlongs in 1:17.22.

Hustled from her number two post position, Show It N Moe It was head and head for the lead inside a four-horse spread into the far turn and easily dispatched of three Kentucky-bred rivals leaving the quarter pole en route to an emphatic victory in her 10th career start.

An eight length winner versus Cal-breds going the same distance on Jan. 14, Show It N Moe It, who is out of Lovingier’s good producer Robotica (by Ide), was off at 4-1 in a field of seven sophomore fillies and paid $10.60, $5.20 and $3.00.

“The mare is in foal to the same stallion, so we’ve got a full sibling coming,” said Lovingier, who shares ownership on Show It N Moe It with Tom London and Eugene Zondlo.  “This was a big, stout yearling, but when Gary got her fit, she tucked up some…She’s real long body-wise and she’s got a big shoulder.”

With a California-bred incentive bonus of $10,080, Show It N Moe It picked up $43,680 for the win, increasing her earnings to $227,113.  Her overall race record stands at 10-4-1-3.

“We’ll point her to that $200,000 race on Santa Anita Derby Day (versus Cal breds, the Evening Jewel, at 6 ½ furlongs on April 7),” said Sherlock.  “Rafael really fits her well.”

Secret Spice, who lagged early under Kent Desormeaux, finished up well to be second, 1 ¼ lengths in front of favored Emboldened.  Off at 5-1, Secret Spice paid $4.80 and $3.00.

Head and head early, Emboldened proved no match for the winner while besting early speed merchant Highland Lass by eight lengths for third money.  Ridden by Joe Talamo, Emboldened was off at 2-1 and paid $2.80 to show.

Fractions on the race were 21.88, 44.99 and 1:10.39.

Special early first post time for a 10-race program on Saturday is at 12 noon.  Admission gates open at 10 a.m.
