ARCADIA, Calif. (Feb. 4, 2018)–With a Single Ticket Pick Six Jackpot pool of $170,417 helping to create a total Pick Six pool of $331,098 on “Super Sunday” at Santa Anita, there was just one winning ticket in the Pick Six and it was worth a whopping $274,653.80.

Purchased for just $64 through TVG, the winning ticket holder was richly rewarded as 8-1 longshot Paddy Jean held on for a three quarter length victory in the ninth and final race under Joe Talamo.  Trained by Van Belvoir and owned by longtime client Stuart Tsujimoto, Paddy Jean broke her maiden today while entered for a $40,000 claiming tag at 6 ½ furlongs down the hillside turf course.  In her 12th career start, she paid $19.00 to win.

Sunday’s Pick Six got off to a very formful start, as 1-5 favorite Dream Tree took race four, paying $2.60 with Drayden Van Dyke aboard.  Race five went to 18-1 longshot Spring Lily.  Ridden by leading rider and Eclipse Award winning Apprentice Evin Roman, she paid $39.80 to win.  The sixth race was taken by 9-5 favorite Aquaphobia, who paid $5.60 to win with Corey Nakatani aboard.  Race seven was won by 11-1 longshot Tapitha Bonita, who paid $25.20 with apprentice Franklin Ceballos up.  Sunday’s eighth was taken by 5-2 favorite Kochees, who paid $7.00 with Mario Gutierrez in the irons.

Beginning with race four, winning numbers in Sunday’s Pick Six were 3, 3, 2, 7, 10 & 6.

Santa Anita will be open with free parking and admission for simulcast wagering on tracks across North America on Wednesday.  Admission gates will open at 10 a.m.
