Handicapping Picks for 04/08/2012

Race #7 - Rating = 3
#6 Tasty Treat - Fair odds 2/1
#2 Starry Skies - Fair odds 5/2
#5 Shezabigbroad - Fair odds 7/2
#3 Daring Dodie - Fair odds 4/1

Tasty Treat won easily down this hillside course last out with Talamo up for the 1st time, Joe riding back, the win coming against tougher OPEN (not just Cal-Breds as these) foes, with a good outside post here and having caused a KEY RACE by being flattered when both the runner-up and 3rd finishers came back to win their next starts. Starry Skies broke her maiden at first asking down the hill and was also flattered when the runner-up came back to win so with logical 2nd start physical and mental improvement she’s got a shot as well. Shezabigbroad cuts back from a mile to 6 ½ furlongs after rallying to 3rd in her last 2 and at the shorter distance could be flying late just as she was in both career wins, both coming in sprints. Daring Dodie also won in her debut down the hill, powerfully by 4 lengths, and although she ran a bit more slowly than Starry Skies she still has improving to do and must be respected when considering our wagers in this race.
