Jairzihno added blinkers for his 3rd start off the claim by Mitchell, having rallied from 10th to 2nd right before that, and led nearly every step of the way at 10 furlongs on turf, up by 2 lengths at the mile mark where this race ends before settling for 2nd, beaten just ¾ of a length on the wire. With Talamo riding back and having won at this mile trip on turf last November, he has a big shot of improving off that last effort and winning today.

Global Stage added blinkers 3 races back and after a 4th place finish won 2 in a row pretty easily, the most recent on turf. Shipping from Northern Cal. and into the top Ted West barn he gets the services of Pat V, and with the ability to win on the lead or from off the pace he certainly has a big shot to win today.

Times Gone By runs first off the claim for 25K and exceptionally confident raise in class to this 50K level by Canani, who wins about ¼ of the time with his new acquisitions. The gelding is winless in 10 races this year and last but was only beaten a half length for 3rd and a length and ¼ for the win last out on the turf so in his new trainer’s care could move up markedly and be competitive.

Golden Mexico won his first two starts after the trainer change to Sadler, in July, both on turf, then finished 3rd in a highly rated race on 8/18, from which the runner-up came back from to win. With Rosario staying with him and with a pair of sharp turf workouts coming into the race he rounds out our quartet that could be part of the exacta at the very least.
